Why are India’s poor made Guinea Pigs?

India’s poor are subject to tyranny in the guise of medical and clinical trials. The uneducated and the vulnerable become subjects of experiments. And when things go wrong, there are only a handful of people who understand the issue in and out and who fight for the voiceless.

There are times when some temporary success is achieved but everything gets forgotten over a period of time.

The ethical and human rights violation in the 2009 HPV trials present one such case.

Here is another case where it is reported that Government doctors lure poor, illiterate for drug trials. In this particular case, to complete the paperwork, the doctors got the victims’ families signatures on blank papers and later filled them up.
