Random Acts of Kindness
This could well have been an FB or a LinkedIn post but I thought I jot it down so that this doesn’t get lost in the sea of social media posts and stays as a reminder.
This is a Thank You note for Richa who leads Training and Talent Management in the organisation where I work.
There is a mandatory training that is on and I somehow missed the August slots. When I sent out an email to the Learning Team, I did get a response from the Team saying that no more slots were available for August. However, I was pleasantly surprised to hear back from Richa herself telling me to wait for a few days to enroll in the next September slot. Now, when the enrollment opened, she sent me a personal note and shared the slots with me. Now for her to take this extra step, was for me an act of inspiration. At certain times, when our own lights are dimmed and we doubt the implications of random kind acts, this came as a friendly reminder or hint to do what we do best irrespective of what results await us.
This has not been the first time she has demonstrated her kind self. Back in 2016, when I lost my mother and frequent thoughts and memories of her would make me write random FB posts to indicate how I miss her, Richa would remind me how my mother would not be happy to see me sad. At one such occasion when I wore a Saree to work, she came and told me to keep smiling so that my mother in heaven would stay happy.
However insignificant these personal connects might seem, it is extremely essential for a team to survive and grow… not only in these tough times, but always.
